An evening with Mr Ajay Poddar, CEO of Synergy Environics Ltd
On Friday, Jan 21, we had a very informative session by Mr Ajay Poddar, CEO of Synergy Environics Ltd.
About Mr Poddar and his business
Mr Poddar is a Civil Engineering graduate from IIT Delhi and has over 40 years of experience running various businesses. He got the idea for Synergy Environics in 1989 after the failure of his LPG cylinder manufacturing business. When he was told that he had violated Vaastu in his plant, Mr Poddar, with his training as an engineer, did not first buy the argument. Then he met Ganapathy Sthapathi and Krishna Bhatt, the famous architects. After spending time with them, he realized that everything about the plant layout had been wrong. He realized the importance of vibrations, their frequencies and their wavelengths and how solutions to these problems could be found in nature. Mr Poddar worked on the idea for several years and did a lot of research before launching his Environics business in 2007. Synergy Environics is focused on correcting the negative impact of natural and manmade radiation. The company has pioneered innovative products like Envirochip and Enviroglobe.
Today, Mr Poddar’s products are used in some 2500 establishments. Currently, Synergy Environics’s turnover is Rs 20 crores. Mr Poddar believes that the business can easily scale up to Rs 3000 cores in the next few years. Mr Poddar has published several research papers in reputed journals. He has also written a book,” Empower yourself- New life solutions for health and wellbeing.”
The essence of good health
Mr Poddar began by explaining that the essence of healthcare is not the successful treatment of diseases and aliment. It is really about allowing the body to function as it is designed to do and not interfering in its natural functioning.
Our body has a natural state and should maintain a healthy rhythm with the vibrations in the environment. Indeed, our body is nothing but a vibrating, electromagnetic field and resonates with other surrounding objects at a particular frequency. If we do not upset this balance, we will be healthy. In fact, we can live for 160 years even with reasonable wear and tear to the body. (Similarly, buildings can last for 200 years if they are in rhythm with nature.)
Our health depends on what we do and how we do. For example, it is not just about having 7-8 hours of sleep. It is about the quality of sleep. We should have at least 2.5 hours of deep sleep. We should go to sleep after a light meal at the right time. Melatonin, a hormone made in the body, regulates our sleep wake cycles. Darkness triggers the body to make more melatonin, which signals the body to sleep. Light decreases melatonin production and signals the body to be awake. Melatonin is secreted by the brain in the dark between 10 pm and 3 am. So, it is important to sleep early. If we go to sleep after midnight, half the secretion potential is gone.
The problem with gadgets.
The extensive use of electronic gadgets in recent times has added to the health hazard. It is creating electro smog. Dirty water or air can be felt but harmful radiation cannot be sensed. Covid has taught us that it is the invisible threat which is more dangerous than the visible threats. We should not underestimate the power of cell phone radiation. That is why we are told to switch off our cell phones during landing and take-off. That is also why we are seeing so many media reports about flights being cancelled because of 5G.
Cell phones have transformed our lifestyle. But we do not handle cell phones the way we should: use for less than 6 minutes per hour, keep the device more than 10-15 mm from the body, etc. Today in our home and even in our bedroom, we keep so many gadgets. They interfere with the healthy functioning of our body. Not surprisingly, 50% of the people in the world have sleep disorders.
Mr Poddar offered a scientific explanation for the harmful impact of radiation. The nature of waves emanating from wireless devices is ‘constant’, whereas the nature of waves from the human body is ‘random’. Whenever any ‘constant’ wave meets the human body’s ‘random’ waves, the human body perceives it as a threat and tries to fight it. This is similar to what happens when a harmful bacteria or virus attacks the body. Being in this constant “fight” mode creates additional stress on the body, leading to lower immunity. We become susceptible to a variety of health issues like poor sleep quality, excessive fatigue, headaches to brain tumours and cancer in extreme cases.
Our body mimics the earth’s frequency and tries to resonate with the earth. Dr Hartman studied 500 cases of cancer and found that in 499 cases, it was not due to DNA but due to location. (Hartmann lines", a grid of invisible energy lines of the Earth's inherent radiation are named after him.)
Learning from our ancestors
In the olden days, we had the concept of Bhoomi Dosh. We would allow the animals to graze on the land. If they did not eat the grass, it meant something was wrong with the land. In the houses we construct, energy is captured within the four walls. This energy should be in consonance with the external energy. In the past, houses were constructed taking these considerations into account. They would have a central courtyard with the toilets and kitchen outside the living area. It is believed that they drain the energy out of the house.
Environics
Environics believes in scientifically transforming our environment for our benefit. Environics undertakes systematic impact assessment using scientific instruments to study affected spaces to pinpoint the energy effects and take corrective measures. Here is an example of a survey plan.
Here is an example of a correction plan.
Envirochip
Envirochip is made up of inert materials which emit ‘random’ waves and operate at a much higher frequency than the microwave radiation coming from mobile phones, computers, etc. Working on the principle of superimposition, it acts as a ‘carrier wave’ carrying the ‘constant’ EMR (Electromagnetic Radiation) wave in a ‘random’ waveform, making it compatible with the human body.
Envirochip can be stuck to the back of the phone. Its design is based on the 5 elements. The chip converts waves from systemic to random pattern. It does not reduce the signal strength but only changes the nature of radiation. It has been tested by many reputed institutions and hospitals like MIT, AAIMS. There are 5,000,000 users for the product.
Enviroglobe
Enviroglobe is a radiation protection device that can be used in living and working spaces to protect us from the harmful effects of electromagnetic radiation emanating from the sources over which we do not have control. These include mobile transmission towers, high tension lines, server rooms, electronic gadgets and other Wi-Fi devices in the vicinity. The globe changes the nature of waves (radiations) emanating from wireless devices and makes them harmless to the human body. The Enviroglobe can cover an area of 300 square feet and ensure that we are able to get better sleep and concentration. It needs to be recharged after one week by placing it under direct sunlight / artificial light for 15 minutes.
EnivroLife
Our mobile phones are 2000 times as dirty as toilet seats when it comes to germs. If the Envirochip acts like a seat belt, EnivroLife acts like a shower and cleanses the gadget of bacteria. EnviroLife is a disinfectant spray which kills 99.99% of germs and bacteria including antibiotic- resistant germs and protects us for 24-hours with one easy spray.
Q&A
On the business opportunity
Mr Poddar has kept his products affordable for the common man. One of his key business principles is to keep the costs at less than 20% of the sales price. This ensures that the product is profitable for him as well as the traders. The Envirochip is priced at Rs 800.Mr Poddar hopes to touch the lives of 100 million people in the next few years. He believes his company has only touched the tip of the iceberg. The opportunity is huge. On an average, each person will own 15 gadgets very soon. Mr Poddar has positioned Synergy as a Health Tech company, something like the Intel for computers. The market is too big for Mr Poddar alone to pursue. He is willing to tie up with franchisees and partners and support them with technical know-how and funding. There are also opportunities for software developers to come out with cool apps as well. Mr Poddar has already joined hands with large companies as their CSR partner.
On regulating 5G
The telecom companies are in denial mode. At the same time, the government is looking at the industry as a major source of revenues and is not being mindful of the health risks. 5G generates 300 times more heat than 4G. Mr Poddar feels that promoting wireless 5G is a wrong direction to take. We should only allow 5G through optic fibres. 5G is not really needed on our cell phones. Most of our tasks can be handled with 4G. The current download speed for videos is more than adequate.
Role of consumers
As consumers, we must reduce our dependence on gadgets. We should try to spend more time with nature. Spending too much time with our laptops and cell phones has already started to take its toll on the young workforce. Many people in the age group of 30-40 have hearing impairments today. Their reproductive system is also becoming impaired.
Young people are today spending too much time on their laptops or cell phones as part of online learning. This is again not a good trend. It is important for students to get away from gadgets whenever they can.
On mental health
Mental health is a function of stress. We often do not know why we are stressed. We get over the shock of someone dying in 12 days but little things bother us for years. Physical, emotional and mental wellbeing are inseparable.
On the importance of traditional knowledge
We should not discard our traditional knowledge and dismiss it as a set of superstitions. Our ancestors were wise and their lifestyle was far healthier than what we have today. Their buildings were better designed. People would say namaste and eat hot food. All these were great habits. Our educators must appreciate our traditional knowledge and share it with students.
Using technology wisely
Technology should not be used just for its own sake. We should identify what is useful about the technology and leave out the rest. We should be wise before the fact. Any new technology should be carefully evaluated by the government considering the interests of people and then only approvals should be given.
On using AI and ML
Mr Poddar admitted that these technologies have only been used minimally so far in his business. Going forward, he believes that he can leverage the substantial volumes of data which the business has already generated. He believes AI and ML can be used to make the products even better.
On building awareness
Mr Poddar tries to spread awareness in various ways. He believes in a continuous engagement model and gives talks regularly to his clients. He has also posted several videos to educate people. One of his videos on the utility of dry ginger has gone viral on the social media.
A very good session by Mr Poddar. Great moderation by Prasad and Sudhakar.
We thank Dr. Vedpuriswar for bringing out the highlights in the form of this note
